This is an Excel file with macros (enable macros when you open it). The instructions are included on the first page. I wrote this to solve Sudoku puzzles in the paper. You can use it to check your solutions so far, give a hint for the next number, or solve the puzzle completely.

Su Doku Susser (Multi Platform) Website

The Sudoku Susser is available for FREE (actually "tipware") for Mac, PC and Linux. It doesn't generate puzzles (unlike "Single Number") but it does collect them from a wide variety of sources, including graphics. Its detailed explanations of each step of the solution are fascinating.
